Merca District Commissioner, Mr. Adam Ibrahim Abdu has commended #AUSSOM #UPDF troops in Lower Shabelle’s Beldamin district for restoring #peace and #stability through joint operations, community services, & medical assistance.
During a meeting for local leaders and Muslim clerics at Beldamin Forward Operating Base (FOB), Mr Abdu pledged closer coordination and information sharing to strengthen security.
Battle Group 45 Second-in-Command, Lt. Col. Morris Kyatoko, thanked local leaders for partnering with AUSSOM troops to ensure Somalia’s unity and long-term stability. Lt. Col. Kyatoko emphasised the importance of community–security force cooperation in countering Al-Shabaab and highlighted Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) engagements as vital for building trust and lasting #peace.
