The African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) became effective on January 1, 2025.
AUSSOM is mandated by the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) in its communiqués for the 1225th and 1253rd meetings and approved by UNSC through Resolution 2767 (2024).
