On behalf of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and sincere congratulations to His Excellency President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the leadership of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), the Federal Member States, and the people of Somalia on the blessed day of Eid Al Adha.
Eid Al Adha is a sacred time of reflection, sacrifice, compassion, and solidarity. It reminds us of the enduring values of faith, unity, generosity, and service to humanity; principles that continue to inspire collective efforts towards peace, reconciliation, and national progress in Somalia.
I commend the resilience, courage, and determination of the Somali people in advancing peace, stability, and state-building despite ongoing challenges. Somalia’s path toward lasting peace and security reflects the strength and aspirations of its people.
AUSSOM remains committed to supporting the FGS and the Somali Security Forces (SSF) in safeguarding these gains, promoting stabilisation, and creating conditions for sustainable peace and development across the country.
On this joyous day, I also pay tribute to the brave men and women of the Somali security institutions, AUSSOM personnel, and all partners working tirelessly for the peace, security, and wellbeing of Somalia.
May this Eid bring renewed hope, peace, prosperity, and unity to all Somalis, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and harmony throughout the nation and the African continent.
